On the 17th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the Exchange Club of Naperville is once again sponsoring Naperville's annual September 11 remembrance.

This year's featured speaker is Kris Habermehl, who has been a fixture on Chicago radio and TV for a quarter of a century. Working for decades from aboard the CBS TV and radio helicopters "Chopper2" and "Chopper 780," Habermehl has been able to combine work with his other passion, flying. Habermehl has won five regional Emmys and numerous other broadcasting awards. He also lectures on severe weather events, maritime and aviation history and can be seen on various PBS documentaries on Chicago.

The City of Naperville is hosting a public meeting to present potential improvements to the intersection of 95th Street and Book Road. The purpose of the meeting will be to present alternatives for improvements and to review preliminary impacts and costs, as well as seek public input on the alternatives under consideration. City staff and the project team will be available to answer questions during the two-hour meeting, which will be run as an open house. - The City has identified the need for improvements at this intersection that will increase safety, reduce delay and improve operations. Preliminary engineering to assess existing conditions and determine optimal improvements is taking place throughout 2018. Construction is currently planned for 2021. - For those who cannot attend the September 20 public meeting, exhibits and displays will be posted to the City's website and comments on the proposed improvements will be accepted through Thursday, October 4.
